Rosalie M. Barry was born on July 13, 1938 to Elwin L. and Alice Lillian (Polak) Dunlap and passed away June 11, 2017 at Tabitha at Williamsburg in Lincoln, NE, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 29 days. Rosalie graduated from Ord High School in 1956.
She was united in marriage on July 19, 1961 to Patrick J. Barry in Ord, NE. Six children were born to this union.
After raising her children, she worked in food service at Seward Public Schools and later at Seward Memorial Hospital in the dietary and housekeeping departments for over 20 years.
She enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren. She also loved music and cantored for several years at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
In 2003, she received the Caring Kind Award from the National Hospital Association.
She is preceded in death by her husband Patrick J. Barry and parents, Elwin and Alice Dunlap.
Survivors include her children, Paul (Rebecca) Barry of Omaha, Gregory (Mary Jo) Barry of Omaha, Timothy Barry of Pittsburgh, PA, Daniel (Taj) Barry of Omaha, Monica (Joseph) Brentano of Kansas City, KS and Virginia (Russell) Cowan of Osage City, KS, Eleven Grandchildren, Sister, Lorraine (Ronald) Peters of Lincoln and Brother, Gerald Dunlap of Omaha. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward. Visitation will resume at 6:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Ryan Salisbury celebrating. Burial will follow at Seward Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
