Rose Mildred (Belsan) Tesina was born January 27, 1917 in Havelock, Nebraska to Louis and Mildred (Slechta) Belsan and passed away on August 7, 2012 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 6 months, 11 days. Rose attended Seward County School District #33. On October 15, 1935, Rose was united in marriage to Emil Edward Tesina at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Bee. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Emil A., James J., Jeanette M. and Rosmarie. The family lived north of Bee; moved west of Dwight in 1949 and following her husband Emil's death in 1979, Rose moved into Dwight in 1981. Rose was a member of Dwight Assumption Catholic Church and Altar Society; a charter member of Dwight American Legion Auxiliary Post #110; she was also the leader of the Dwight Legion Junior Auxiliary. Rose was a member of the Dwight Community Club, a 4-H Club leader, and a past member of the Good Neighbor Extension Club. Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Emil Tesina; her parents, Louis and Mildred Belsan; son, Emil Tesina; daughter, Jan Semin; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and JoAnn Tesina; brothers, Jim and his wife, Josie Belsan, Frank Belsan; sister and brother-in- law, Helen and Jake Hamsa. Survivors who will cherish memories of Rose include her daughter and son-in-law, Rosmarie Tesina and Dennis Mehrhoff, Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Polly Tesina, Bee; son-in-law, Al Semin, Ulysses; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Lou and Connie Belsan, Chula Vista, CA; sister-in-law, Lillian Belsan, Omaha; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
