Rosie Lena Tipling Wood was born February 9, 1917 in Lincoln, Nebraska the second child born to Joseph William and Ethel Viola (Griffin) Tipling and passed away on November 12, 2005 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 9 months, 3 days. Rosie grew up with her two sisters and two brothers and attended school in Seward. On December 5, 1962, Rosie was united in marriage to Paul Irving Wood in York, Nebraska. Irving had three sons from a previous marriage, Jack Irving, Bill, and Roger. Rosie kept busy doing house cleaning and babysitting for others. She was a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Staplehurst and had attended the United Methodist Church in Seward. Rosie became a resident at Sundermann Home in Seward in July of 1993. She enjoyed visits from family and friends and the many activities of the home; particularly entering items she had made in the Seward County Fair. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ethel Tipling; her husband, Irving Wood; sisters, Gertrude Tipling and Frances Stroh and brothers, Elmer and Earl Tipling. Rosie is survived by her sister-in-law, Rose Mary Wood, Seward; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Rosie. |
