Obituary

Roxann "Roxie" Hamilton was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on January 4, 1949, to Sandra (Dahlgren) Hamilton and peacefully passed away in Seward, Nebraska on April 3, 2025, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 30 days.

Roxie grew up in numerous states including Nebraska, Texas, and Minnesota. She attended and graduated from Monroe High School with the Class of 1968 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Roxie then attended colleges across the Midwest including Colorado State University, University of Illinois, Minnesota State University, and Inver Grove Heights Community College and completed several degrees. Over the years, Roxie worked several jobs including, truck driving, unit case worker, cartographer and she was the first female to serve as a volunteer firefighter in Inver Grove Heights Minnesota.

Roxie was a very smart and colorful woman. She was always up for a challenge and was driven to accomplish her dreams no matter what obstacles stood in her way. Roxie often told her children, "If you can dream it, you can do it, but you have to do the work." Another quote she often said was, "Where there is a will there is always a way." She had a deep love for all animals, but especially dogs, cats, and horses. Roxie was very passionate about art, nature, and the Native American Culture. In her free time, she loved to create beaded jewelry and travel. Above all, Roxie loved being a mom and took pride in her children.

Roxie is preceded in death by her infant son, Sammy Reiter; mother, Sandra Hamilton; grandma and grandpa Dahlgren; father and stepmother, Ken and Chris Hamilton; brother, Gordon Hamilton; brother that she recently reconnected with, David George.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her children and their spouses, Bruce (Jean Mathew) Reiter, Atlanta, GA, Rebecca Lynn (Dustin) Burton, Staplehurst, NE, James Nathan Reiter, Champaign, IL, Amanda Roxann (Eric) Braun, Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Hannah Reiter, Phoenix MacGregor, Coralyn Braun; sister, Marcia Hamilton; brothers, Jim Hamilton, Terry Hamilton, Kenny Hamilton, Craig Hamilton.
