Ruby M. Broman, age 102, of Seward, Nebraska, formerly of Blue Rapids, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Ridgewood Rehabilitation and Care Center in Seward. Ruby was born January 30, 1912, at Alexander, Kansas to Jacob W. and Marie L. (Hula) Henrich. She married June W. Cole in 1927, they later divorced. She married William L. Whitesell in 1930, he passed away in 1979. In 1984 she married Charles A. Broman, he passed away shortly after their marriage. Ruby had been a farm wife most of her life. She also hung wallpaper, worked in the meat department at the McKee IGA store and was a cook for the Blue Valley Café in Blue Rapids. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids, a member of the Blue Rapids Rebekah Lodge # 337, Union Pacific Railroad Retirement, RSVP in Marysville and the Fairview Busy Bee Club. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a son William J. Whitesell and his wife Marilyn, four brothers; Theodore Henrich, William Henrich, Jesse Henrich and Clinton Henrich, four sisters; Susie Bucholz, Elizabeth Boyd, Emma Nider and Rosa Ross, two grandsons; Tavis Ross, Mitchell Whitesell, two great-grandsons; Micaiah Ross, Spencer Whitesell and son-in-law Robert Higgins. Survivors include her son Carl E. Whitesell and wife Ann of Scranton, Kansas, Mary Lou Higgins of El Cajon, California, Beulah M. Spunaugle and husband Tom of Seward, Nebraska, Delma M. Hartig and husband Raymond of Lincoln, Nebraska and a sister, Cassie Mather of Toledo, Ohio. Five Grandsons; James Michael Ross and wife Rhona, William Whitesell and wife Jimie, Michael Whitesell, Patrick Whitesell and special friend Kendra and Daniel Hartig. Ten Granddaughters; Connie Wapp, Phyllis Jones and husband Jean-Paul, Brenda Whitesell, Carla Childers and husband Phil, Mary Lou Rogers and husband Jerry, Rita Bruch and husband Billy, Teri Pokorny and husband Herb, Christie Bartelt and husband Randy, Julie Graham and husband Myron, and Karen Karr and husband Russell. Thirty-three Great Grandchildren; Cassie Salinas, Cody Ross, Jesse Ross, Ian Tavis Ross, Christopher Whitesell, Amanda Bender, Stephanie Wecker, Angel Whitesell, Kimberly Whitesell, Tyler Jones, Zachary Jones, Christina McClendon, Jessica McClendon, Teresa Altof, Chelsey Rogers, Jared Rogers, Blake Whitesell, Erica Wyatt, Logan Whitesell, Dakota Cott, Caleb Cott, Andrew Burch, Nicholas Burch, Sarah Satterlee, Amber Bartelt, Darienne Pokorny, Paxton Graham, Baylor Graham, April Graham, Autumn Graham, Stockton Graham, Austin Karr and Brandon Karr.
