Ruth Eileen (Stillahn) Baack was born on November 30, 1929, on a farm near Seward, Nebraska to Edward and Anna (Klintworth) Stillahn and passed away on April 25, 2025, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 4 months and 26 days.
Ruth grew up on the family farm and attended Immanuel Lutheran School. After her schooling she helped on the farm for numerous years. On May 6, 1951, Ruth was united in marriage to Hershel Baack, and to this union four children were born, Arend, Eydis, Harley, and K.C. Ruth cleaned Samples Photo Studio for a few years before cleaning Cattle Bank and Trust after hours for numerous years. She also cleaned many houses over the years. Ruth was a selfless caretaker for her brothers and her mother until their passing. In her free time, Ruth loved to garden, plant potatoes and spend time on the farm listening to the birds. She also loved to cook and bake and was known to always make white cupcakes with pink frosting for her grandchildren. She also loved her cats, playing cards, canning, and shopping.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Baack; parents; brothers, Werner and Lester Stillahn; daughter-in-law, Banne' (Brown) Baack.
Survivors cherishing her memory include her children and their spouses, Arend (Gail) Baack, Papillion, Eydis (Steve) Erks, Lincoln, Harley (Marla) Baack, Holdrege; K.C. (Connie) Baack, Marietta, GA, Laurie Baack, Seward; grandchildren, Karina Loder, Tiffany (Jason) Beaty, DaisyAnn (Chris) Barrett, RoseAnn (Billy) Davis, Rebekka (Steve) Erks Byrne, Matthew (Heather) Baack, Jonathan (Brittany) Baack, Branden Baack, Brittney (Edward Hatfield) Baack, Kelsey (David Lee) Baack, Dillon (Alicia Smith) Baack; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Leora Baack, Wilma Luth; cousins, Janet Buehl, JoAnn Sieck, B. Laura Riles, Linda Mason; numerous nieces and nephews.
