Ruth Ramona (Rhode) Hardt was born October 3, 1928 in Hampton, Nebraska, the daughter of Ernst A. and Bertha (Schulze) Rhode. Ruth passed away on October 22, 2014 at her home in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 19 days. Ruth was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton and was a 1947 graduate of Concordia High School, Seward, Nebraska. She attended college for two years and taught for one year at Sterling, Nebraska. On July 29, 1950, Ruth was united in marriage to Walter Frederick Hardt, also at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton and their marriage was blessed with four children, James, Linda, Patty and Connie. Ruth was employed for over twenty years at Fabric Fair in Seward. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church and taught 3-year old and 4-year old Sunday School for 49 years. She was a member of LWML, Ladies Aid, Bible Study, and Tower Guild and served as AAL secretary. Ruth enjoyed sewing and gardening and created banners for churches for many years. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Ernst and Bertha Rhode; her husband, Walter Hardt in 1980; and her brother-in-law, Duane Vosika. Ruth is survived by her children and their spouses, James Hardt, Battle Creek, Linda and Jon Peters, Deshler, Patty and Stan Luebbe, Staplehurst, Connie and Robert Ziegler, Ft. Myers, FL; six grandchildren and spouses, Randy and Melissa Noel, Nathan and Shelly Peters, Jason and Danielle Luebbe, Jeff and Leslie Luebbe, Reed Ziegler, Brett and Cara Wachter; three great-grandchildren, Nora Noel, Natalie Noel, Paige Luebbe; sister, Carolyn Vosika, Lincoln; cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
