Ruth Marie (Hallock) Watson was born June 29, 1929 in Springview, Nebraska, the only child of Ronald and Elsie (Petsel) Hallock and passed away at her home in Seward, Nebraska on February 26, 2017, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, 28 days. Ruth was a high school graduate and received a degree in Music Performance from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Ruth was married to. V. Robert Watson and their marriage was blessed with two children, Jane and Robert. Ruth moved to Seward, Nebraska in 1955 and made her home in Seward the remainder of her life. Later in life she was married to Ivan A. Blevens. Ruth was a member of St Andrew's Episcopal Church, where she played the organ for services for a period of time. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter CC in Seward. Ruth enjoyed playing golf and bridge and was a longtime member of LaMesa Bridge Group.

Preceding Ruth in death were her husbands, V. Robert Watson, M.D. and Ivan A. Blevens; her sister-in-law Mary Jane (Watson) Blevens; her parents, Ronald and Elsie Hallock; step-daughter, Susan J. (Blevens) Hinrichs; cousin, Margaret Fisher.

Survivors cherishing Ruth's memory include her daughter Jane R. Dickey, Seward and fiancé John Marsh of Seward; son Robert J. Watson and daughter-in-law, Janeen of Lincoln and grandchildren Kiefer and Kelsey, Lincoln; step-son and wife Robert I. and Sue Blevens, Seward; son-in-law and wife Jon J. and Donna Hinrichs; cousin, John Fisher and family of Texas and a host of friends.
