Sandra “Sandi” Kay (Reynolds) Born, 77, of Lincoln, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 17, 2026. Known for her infectious warmth and famous hugs, Sandi lived a life defined by her faith, her family, and her joy for others.
Sandi was born February 2, 1949, in Ukiah, California, to Ralph and Inez Reynolds. A woman of many talents, she pursued her education at the College of Hair Design and attended seminary in Texas, reflecting her lifelong commitment to both creativity and her spiritual calling.
She often joked that she was “born three times”: first into this world, then “born again” into her faith, and finally, “born” once more when she married the love of her life, Ernest Born. This wit and her genuine kindness made her a beloved figure in her community. Sandi was a devoted member of her church, where she spent many years teaching Sunday school for special education students and performing as Mary in the annual Easter play.
Sandi’s passions were simple and profound: sharing the Gospel, crafting, music, and above all, spending time with her large and growing family. Whether she was offering a word of encouragement or a warm embrace, she made everyone feel like they belonged.
Sandi was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Born; parents, Ralph and Inez (Baney) Reynolds; stepfather, Lawrence Baney; and brother, Don Reynolds.
She is survived by a legacy of love, including her children, Michael Born (Ashley), Angela Dasher, Michelle Kliment (Michael), Kayla Green, Carson Watkins, Dustin Born (Ariel), Tasha Anderson, and Kortney Williams. She is also survived by her sister, Rhonda Seybold (Curtis); 12 grandchildren, Evan Justus, Alexandra Kafka (Isaac), Meghan Kliment, Michael Kliment, Kaci Dasher, Tanner Kliment, Jordan Dasher, Sarah Dasher (K.C.), Cashius Watkins, Logan Born, Jonas Born, and Avery Born; five great-grandchildren, Leah, Alaina, Ava, Koda, and Krew; and niece, Christy Seybold, along with several great-nieces and a great-nephew.
