Sandra Jo "Sandy" Smetter was born on July 31, 1952, in Columbus, Nebraska to Clarence Stanley and Verna Fern (Armagost) White and passed away on August 29, 2024, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 72 years and 29 days.

Sandy grew up in Beaver Crossing where she attended Beaver Crossing school and graduated from Centennial High School with the Class of 1970. She worked at Verna's Café in Beaver Crossing for several years before her employment at The Red Barn in Goehner, where she met her future husband, Jerry Smetter. The couple was united in marriage on September 24, 1976, at the Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church.

After their marriage, they purchased Pudgy's DriveIn in Republican City, Nebraska for 15 years. They later moved to Doniphan, Nebraska where she was employed at the Bosselman Truck Stop as a cashier. After Jerry's passing, Sandy moved to Lincoln, Nebraska for a couple of years to be with her sister before making the moved to Seward. She enjoyed crocheting and plastic canvas sewing. Sandy was an avid reader and Husker fan of all sports. She enjoyed going to dances, bowling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Smetter; parents, Clarence and Verna White; two sisters, Sherri Dean and husband, Jim and Gayle Kunert; two brothers-in-law, Marion Smetter and Terry Smetter; daughter-in-law, Donna Smetter.

Survivors include her two sons, Kent Smetter and wife, Sandra, Beaver Crossing, Jeff Smetter, Beaver Crossing; five grandchildren, Joseph Smetter and wife, Tonya, Ogallala, Audrey Siddiqui and husband, Huzaifa, Durham, NC, Mindy Smetter, New Baden, IL, Jennifer Koranda and husband, Matt, Staplehurst, Ash Wounded Arrow and wife, Justine, Omaha; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon White, Sutherland; sister-in-law, Bonnie Litty and husband, Stan, Seward and numerous nieces and nephews.
