Selma Anna Henrietta Wiese was born May 11, 1912 on the family farm south of Utica, Nebraska to Henry Fredrick and Katherine Bertha (Schlechte) Wiese and passed away on November 3, 2005, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 5 months, 23 days. Selma received her education at District No. 62 near Beaver Crossing and finished her schooling at St. Johns School in 1926. In August of 1938 she accompanied her Aunt Sophie to Chicago and remained there as an employee of Kranzs Candy Store and Tea Room. In 1943, she began employment with an insurance firm in the Loop of Chicago; she remained there until her retirement when she moved to Seward to make her home. Selma was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Fred and Katherine Wiese; her brothers, Melvin Wiese and Elroy Wiese; her foster brother, Walter Naber and her cousin Norma Spallek. Selma is survived by her cousins, Lenora Gocke, Seward, Raymond and Bernice Wiese, Wahoo and several other cousins and a host of friends.
