Sherie Ann (Miller) Stauffer was born March 26, 1950 in Lincoln, Nebraska and passed away in Utica, Nebraska on April 1, 2011 at the age of 61 years, 6 days. Sherie spent part of her youth in Lincoln and moved with her family to Seward in 1962. Sherie was confirmed in 1965 at Friedens United Church of Christ in Seward where she still remains a member. During her high school years, Sherie was a member of Pep Club, Y Teens and the Choir. Sherie was a 1969 graduate of Seward High School, attended Lincoln School of Commerce and was employed in the office at Hughes Brothers, Inc. in Seward. In August of 1971, Sherie was married to Leland Stauffer and their son, Rodney Leland was born February 18, 1977. Sherie enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom. Rodney passed away July 8, 1989 from leukemia at the age of 12 years. Sherie became a resident of Utica Community Care Center in 1994 due to her battle with the disease Huntington's Chorea.
Sherie is preceded in death by her son, Rodney Leland Stauffer and her parents, J. Don and Delores Miller.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Clark Kolterman of Seward, six nieces and nephews and their spouses; five great nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins; her longtime roommate and good friend, Jan Bowmaster Johnson at the Utica Community Care Center and her former husband, Leland Stauffer of Lincoln.
