Stanley Laverne Shaw was born to Theodore "Ted" Oliver and Bertha Helen (Reierson) Shaw on December 18, 1945 in Seward, Nebraska and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 8, 2009 at the age of 63 years, 6 months, 21 days. As a youth Stan was baptized and confirmed at the United Church of Christ in Goehner. He attended grade school in Goehner and was a 1964 graduate of Seward High School. Stan served his country in the United States Navy following his high school graduation. After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, Stan worked for Volkswagon and with a welding company and for the past 27 years was employed as a plumber with Shanahan Mechanical and Electrical, Inc. in Valparaiso, Nebraska. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore "Ted" and Bertha Shaw; his grandparents; and two uncles and three aunts. Stan is survived by his daughter, Sherri Cuda of Lincoln; his granddaughters, Cassandra Fountain and Mackenzie Cuda; his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Gene Hemphill of Seward; brother, Harold Shaw of Adelanto, California; the mother of their daughter, Irene Cuda of Lincoln; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Stan. |
