Obituary

Steven Michael Bauer was born on February 5, 1960, in Omaha, NE; he was adopted at 9 months by Robert Dale and Beryl Rosalind (Glock) Bauer. Steve passed away on January 15, 2016, in Lincoln, NE at the age of 55 years, 11 months and 10 days. He grew up in Seward and as a young boy, he enjoyed being in the Boy Scouts, riding motorcycles and snowmobiling with the neighbors. Steve helped his dad on the farm by checking irrigation wells and doing field work. He helped the electrician wire his Mom and Dad's new home, which guided him on his career path. Steve graduated from Seward High School with the class of 1978 then continued his education at Southeast Community College in Milford.

On August 8, 1981, Steve married Carlene Rose Neben in Orange, CA. They met and dated while she was attending Concordia Teachers College. Steve began working at Walker "Tenneco" in September of 1981 and continued for 34 years. He was the type of guy that loved fixing things and when it was completed, he also loved to tell you how he did it. Steve was happiest when he was working with his hands and being outdoors. He spent a lot of weekends camping and sailing his boat with the Hobie Fleet. Most recently he delighted in riding his Harley on nice days. Steve was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Beryl Bauer.

He is survived by his wife, Carlene of Seward, two daughters, Katherine Fox and husband David and their daughter Olivia of Lincoln, NE; and Christine Bauer of Norfolk, NE; sister, Karen Werner of PeWee Valley, KY; brother-in-law, Mark Werner of Waco, NE; Aunts and Uncles, George and Joan Allen of Lexington, NE; Betty Mittendorff of Ralston, NE; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Eldon "Nobby" and Rose Neben of Orange, CA; and Carlene's siblings, Marc Neben, Nate Neben, Lisa Foster, Leon Neben, Jason Neben and Amy Neben.
