Steven Lee Fleek was born on April 16, 1957, in Rapid City, South Dakota and passed away on August 31, 2026, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 15 days.

Steve was adopted at the age of three and a half years by Larry and Irma. He was raised in Seward, NE where he attended Seward High School and graduated with the class of 1975. After his graduation he began working for O’Dell Construction for a few years before joining the United States Marine Corps. Steve served from 1979 until his honorable discharge in 1983. He attended school at SCC in Milford for electrical and then SCC in Lincoln for truck driving. Steve and Patty met after his discharge and began dating. The couple lived in Crete and Dorchester for a few years before returning home to Seward in 1997. He began working for O’Dell Construction again driving the pump trunk. Steve was a jack of all trades working in the concrete industry, vehicle sales, flatbed truck driver hauling crude oil in North Dakota, part-time helper for his sons during the winters and working for the Nebraska Department of Roads.

Steve loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a love for playing the piano, which he learned by ear. Steve learned how to play many boogie-woogie songs on the piano. He found great joy in going to their friends shooting range with his family. Steve also enjoyed spending lots of time on his back patio with Patty while he watched the birds and fed the squirrels.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors cherishing his memory include his wife of 42 years, Patty Fleek of Seward, NE; children, Adam Fleek of Seward, NE, Eric (Stephanie) Fleek of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, AJ Seacrest and Cooper Fleek; brother, Mike Fleek of Lincoln, NE; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
