Susan Paulette (Atkinson) Schultz was born to Herman and Elinor Marguerite (Krieger) Atkinson in Oakland, California on September 2, 1946 and passed away on November 8, 2008 at the age of 62 years, 2 months, 6 days. She was baptized into the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond, California on September 22, 1946 and confirmed on Guam on the 24th of April, 1960 by Pastor H.C. Albrecht, Chaplain U.S. Navy. Susan attended schools at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Guam and Glasgow, Montana where she graduated in 1964. She attended Bozeman Business College and graduated in 1965. Her family moved to Seward later that year. Susan worked for Concordia Teachers College, Principal Life Insurance Company and was the Office Manager of the Seward County Coop for 17 years. Sue was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. She enjoyed traveling and spending time in Estes Park and Chadron State Park. She liked to read, especially her favorite comic strip, Charlie Brown. She enjoyed watching old movies on Channel 51. Sue loved spending time with her family and sharing with them her sense of humor. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elinor Atkinson; her brother, Mike Atkinson and her former spouse, Edwin A. Schultz, Jr. Susan is survived by her daughters, Stacie Schultz and spouse, Rachel Smith of Lincoln; Sarah and Chris Kimber of Seward; granddaughters, Brynn V. and Colie A. Kimber of Seward; brother, Gregory F. Atkinson and spouse, Johnna Roberts of Omaha; sister, Connie Atkinson of Seward; cousin, Joan Shuck, Sioux City, IA; brothers-in-law and spouses, Tyrone and Judy Schultz, Utica, Richard and Sherry Schultz, Seward, Dean Schultz, Seward; sister-in-law and spouse, Yvonne and Randy Patchin, Gresham; many nieces and nephews and friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Susan. |
