Obituary
Sylvia was united in marriage to Wilfred (Willie) Butzke and to this union five children were born. She worked at the Flying V and the Manor in Utica as a cook. Sylvia loved gardening and canning the produce from her garden, which helped her family for many years. She had a special love for animals of all sizes, from dogs to horses. She also enjoyed embroidering and listening to polka music. She later married Buster Dey on November 18, 1970 in Columbus. They loved horse trading and went to horse auctions at least twice a week, until he passed away. Later in life she enjoyed riding around the farm with her great-granddaughter, Lillian on her golf cart, playing the harmonica and trying to play the accordion. Sylvia also enjoyed wood craft making. She would cut out crafts, paint them and display them around the house and outside in the yard. She loved people and being with her family, especially her grandchildren where she loved watching them in their sporting events. Sylvia was known as Mom, Grandma, Grandma Buster and "Granny" by her special son-in-law. In the last several years Sylvia received special care by her daughter, Hali. Sylvia was a longtime member of St. Peters Lutheran Church where she helped Hali fold church bulletins.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buster, February 6, 1979; son, DeWain; grandson, Brent; six siblings, Orville, Albin, Helen, Emil, Irene and Wilma.
Sylvia is survived by her four children, Neil and wife Cindy Butzke, Seward, Milo and wife Jeanne Butzke, Lincoln, Tom and wife Karen Butzke, Staplehurst, Hali and husband Dan McBride, Waco; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 4 great, great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Pixie. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Sylvia.
