Ted R. Klintworth was born July 4, 1931 in Seward, Nebraska to Henry and Hattie A. (Krieser) Klintworth and passed away on October 4, 2005 at his home in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 74 years, 3 months. Ted was baptized on July 19, 1931 at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward and confirmed on March 25, 1945, also at St. John. He was a 1949 graduate of Seward High School and a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy. Ted was a member of the ROTC at the University of Nebraska while he was in college. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Captain. On September 19, 1958 Ted was united in marriage to Rosellen H. Rose Bubb at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Ted began working at Vahl Drug Company in Seward in 1945 at the age of 12 and worked there for 59 years until his retirement. He became a registered pharmacist in 1953. He and Rosellen purchased the business in 1965 from Adolph Vahl and owned it until 2004. Ted has worked part time as a pharmacist at Seward Family Pharmacy. Ted was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lincoln. He served as President of the Nebraska Pharmacists Association from 1972-1973. In 1982, he was presented with the Wyeth Bowl of Hygeia for service to pharmacy and community. In 2003, Ted was honored as a 50-year pharmacist licensee. He served on a number of civic boards and organizations including the Seward Planning Commission. Ted enjoyed spending time with his family and loved having them nearby. He took great pride in their accomplishments and was always supportive of their endeavors. He was particularly proud of grandsons, Brian and Rees, and the relationship he had with them. Recently, his joy was increased at the welcoming of his granddaughter, Ellen. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hattie A. Klintworth. He is survived by his wife, Rosellen Rose Klintworth, Seward; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Holly Klintworth, Seward, grandsons, Brian Klintworth and Rees Klintworth, Seward, granddaughter, Ellen Klintworth, Seward; brother, Roland Klintworth, Garland, sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Richard Ficke, Lincoln, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don and Nola Bubb, Lincoln, Ken and Willa Kritner, Lincoln; daughter-in-laws parents, Roy and Pat Helmke, Omaha; an aunt, nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Ted. |
