Troy Lynn Herrold was born on November 20, 1967, in Seward to Larry Thomas and Carolyn Kay (Anstine) Herrold and passed away at home on May 9, 2018, in Seward at the age of 50 years, 5 months and 19 days. Troy grew up on the family farm near Garland where he attended Garland Grade School; he then attended and graduated from Seward High School in the Class of 1986. While in high school he was very active in FFA. He attended Southeast Community College in Milford and graduated in welding.
Troy farmed in the Garland area and helped his Dad on his farm. He also worked at the Bee Co-op, Metromail and Molex. Troy was a member of the Garland Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years. On October 12, 1991, he was united in marriage to Candace Jean Scheel at the Seward United Methodist Church; to this union two daughters were born, Kelsey and Kalley. Troy and Candy loved coaching their daughter's softball teams. Troy was an avid Huskers fan of all sports. He loved his 1971 Dodge Charger. When Troy and Candy moved to town he enjoyed working in his yard. His lawn had to be mowed just a certain way, so that it looked perfect. He also loved smoking meats on his outdoor grill.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Larry in 2017; grandparents; two uncles, David Linder and Paul Anstine.
He is survived by his wife, Candy; two daughters, Kelsey Herrold, Lincoln, Kalley Herrold, Seward; mother, Carolyn (Candy) Herrold, Seward; brother, Jason and wife Kelly Herrold, Lake St. Louis, MO; parents-in-law, George and Paula Scheel, Lincoln; grand mother-in-law, Barb Linder, Lincoln; two sisters-in-law, Kim Sheehan and husband Pat, Gresham, Kristin Rasmussen, Columbus; eight nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Troy.
