Tyler John Woolsey was born on June 10, 1987, in Seward, Nebraska to Kenneth and Linda (Cidlik) Woolsey and passed away on February 23, 2026, at the age of 38 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Tyler attended Surprise Public Grade School and graduated from Aquinas High School with the Class of 2005. Upon graduation he attended Southeast Community College in Milford and graduated as an electrician pursuing his career with Kidwell Electric, Woolsey Electric and most recently Butler County landfill/Archaea Energy as a Wellfield Technician. Tyler will be remembered for his big heart, warm smile and the way he always greeted everyone with a simple genuine “Hi.” His kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Tyler loved his family deeply. His two nieces, Jacee and Bristol, were his greatest sources of pride and joy. He had a sweet tooth that never ended. His quick wit and one-liners kept his family and friends laughing.
Tyler found peace and happiness outdoors. Hunting and fishing weren’t just hobbies for Tyler; they were his passion that connected him to nature and to the people he loved spending time with. Some of his best memories were made outside doing what he enjoyed most.
Tyler was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers. Game days were special, and he cheered on his team with loyalty and pride through every season. He was able to attend a game at Lambeau Field and several Packer’s games in Kansas City.
One of Tyler’s closest companions was his beloved dog, Jax. The bond they shared was unmistakable, full of loyalty, comfort and unconditional love.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched. His memory will live on in every outdoor sunrise, every football Sunday and every simple “Hi” shared in his honor.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Marge Woolsey, Irvin Sr. and Georgia Cidlik; three uncles, Steve Woolsey, Irvin Cidlik, Jr. and Bill Cidlik.
Survivors cherishing his memory include his parents, Kenny and Linda Woolsey, Rising City; brother, Brian and wife, Tanya Woolsey, Staplehurst; sister, Nicki and husband, J.R. Nelson, Davey; two nieces, Jacee Woolsey and Reilly Miller, David City, Bristol Woolsey, Staplehurst; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tyler Woolsey family for future designations.
