Valeria Ruth Craig was born on March 23, 1934, in Grand Island, NE; to Floyd and Grace (Ellison) Meahan and passed away on November 21, 2017, in Garland, NE; at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 29 days.
Valeria moved to Lincoln with her parents at a young age. She attended and graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1952. Valeria worked at Russell Stovers for several years and also worked at the Corner Bar in Garland for many years. On June 29, 1979, she married Richard Craig in Seward. The couple made their home in Garland. She later began working at Blue Valley Community Action where she retired. Valeria's greatest love was her family and friends. She loved painting and working on different crafts. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was a very private person.
Val was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard; son, James Rezac; daughter, Connie Rezac and an infant daughter, two brothers, Tom and Floyd Meahan; two sisters, Roberta Smith and Judy Meahan.
She is survived by her son, James W. Rezac and companion Rita Seullwold of Garland; daughter, Susan Schwamlein and husband Michael of Bee; two grandsons, Jeremy Hlavac and wife Danielle of David City; and Joshua Hlavac of Linwood; four stepgrandchildren, Crystal, Steve, Mike Jr., and Robert. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward, NE. Private family funeral services will be held. Burial will follow at the Seward Cemetery, Seward, NE. Memorials may be made to the Craig family for future designations.
