Valeria Helen Nolte was born July 6, 1931 in Western, Nebraska to Otto John and Helen Sophie (Bartels) Nolte and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on April 12, 2007 at the age of 75 years, 9 months, 6 days. Val was baptized on July 19, 1931 and confirmed on April 29, 1945, both at Zion Lutheran Church, Tobias, Nebraska. She attended Zion Lutheran School and was a 1949 graduate of Tobias High School. She was employed for seven years with Willeford Implement in Tobias and began employment with Concordia Teachers College in Seward as a cashier and bookkeeper on August 1, 1956. She advanced to administrative assistant and retired from Concordia University in 1999 as an accountant, after 43 years of service. Val was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. She enjoyed sewing and handiwork and was an avid sports fan, particularly football and basketball. Val was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Helen Nolte; her brother-in-law, Rev. D. L. Braunersreuther and her nephew, Harlen Nolte. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ramon and Dorothy Nolte of Lincoln; her sister, Alice Braunersreuther of Clearwater; her nieces and nephews, Corrine Dolphens of Lincoln, Jan and Steve Beal of Lincoln, Rev. Jon and Rachel Braunersreuther of St. Louis, Missouri; great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Val. |
