Valerie Sandra Johnson was born on December 23, 1963, in Santa Barbara, CA; to Douglas Randall and Lillian May (Huot) Bain and passed away on January 6, 2013, in Milford, NE; at the age of 49 years and 14 days. She grew up in Watsonville, CA; where she attended high school and graduated in 1981. Valerie enlisted into the United States Army in 1983, where she was stationed at Fort Ord in California. She was honorably discharged in 1985. After her discharge from the Army, Valerie worked at several different jobs but she was more interested in being a mother and homemaker to her children and husband. She moved to Nebraska in 1989 where she met and married Mark Johnson on December 27, 1992, at South Lake Tahoe, CA; the couple made their home in Seward. Valerie loved cats, bird watching, collecting antiques, camping, knitting, and crocheting. She was an excellent cook but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren very much. Valerie is survived by her husband, Mark Johnson, her seven children, eleven grandchildren, her father, Douglas Bain, her sister, Deborah Bain and her mother-in-law, Ruth Steinke. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Bain. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Valerie.
