Vera R. Mueller was born September 22, 1916 at the family home in Malcolm, Nebraska to William L. and Lena Henrietta (Beckmann) Mueller. Vera passed away on July 28, 2006 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 10 months, 6 days. Vera lived her entire life in Seward. She graduated from high school and studied social studies at St. Johns College in Winfield, Kansas. She received her B.A. degree from Concordia College Seward, when she was in her 50s. She worked as a legal secretary for Norval Brothers Attorneys and then began employment with Concordia University. Vera was the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Academic Affairs and retired from her position with Concordia in May of 1982. Vera was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church and LWML, where she held many offices; she was also active as a Stephen Minister in the church. Her hobbies included an extensive cross collection. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lena Mueller; her brothers, Hugo, Edwin, Ewald and Victor Mueller and her sister, Hilda Mueller. Vera is survived by her sisters, Viola Mueller, Seward and Ruth Schroeder, Pasadena, CA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
