Verna Elaine O'Riley was born June 10, 1922 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Nels P. and Blanche Marie (Dunbar) Nelson and passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 25 days. She was a 1940 graduate of Artesian High School in South Dakota. On May 23, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ross Arnold O'Riley in Minnesota. She spent most of her careers as a payroll clerk for different banks and schools, as well as, a water treatment plant. Verna enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, crafts, gardening, traveling, and entertaining guests. She moved to Seward in 2002. Verna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ross A. O'Riley, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Bernard Roby and Fred Brooks. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Tom Tiritilli of Bullhead City, Arizona; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Pam and Dan Moravec of Seward, Nebraska; grandson, Charles R. Sybert of Lincoln, Nebraska; step grandchildren, Tom Tiritilli, Jr. and wife, Sherry of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Kenneth Tiritilli and wife, Shawn of Waddell, Arizona, Christina Foster and husband, Cole of Lincoln, Nebraska; 6 great grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 7 step great great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Roby of Howard, South Dakota and Wauthena Brooks of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; special friend, Morris T. White of Seward, Nebraska. To This obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Verna. |
