Virginia Mini Anna (Beckmann) Bock was born on January 1, 1918, in Germantown/Garland, Nebraska, the youngest of 10 children to August C. and Wilhemina (Sieck) Beckmann and passed away on December 13, 2018, in Seward at the age of 100 years, 11 months and 12 days.
Virginia grew up in Garland where she was baptized on January 20, 1918 and confirmed on March 29, 1931, at Zion Lutheran Church. She attended Zion Lutheran School through the 8th grade. Virginia would often stop by the bank, which her parents owned, to see her father after school. She then attended Garland High School where she graduated with the Class of 1936. After graduation, she stayed home and helped her mother for three years. Virginia was united in marriage to Carl William Bock on October 26, 1939, at her parents' home in Garland. To this union three children were born, Karen, Ila and Damaris. In 1957, she went to work for Russell Stover's Candies. She continued to work there until her retirement in 1980. Virginia loved caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a love for cooking, baking and a beautiful lawn. Virginia would often make pies for family and friends during special occasions. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church where she served on the Ladies Aid committee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Wilhemina Beckmann; husband, Carl Bock; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Kenneth Andelt; son-in-law, Gerald Brase; one grandson, Jason Clagg; five brothers and four sisters.
Virginia is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ila and husband Ron Deinert, Malcolm, Damaris and husband Jack Clagg, Seward; daughter-in-law, Diane Andelt, Lincoln; 12 grandchildren: Brad and wife Jeanne Andelt, Vicki and husband Doug Russell, Amy and husband Brad Johnson, Randall and wife Jolene Deinert, Chad and wife Beth Deinert, Jason and wife Jennifer Brase, Jodi and husband Jeff Earl, Joel and wife Cathy Brase, Becky and husband Marc Tejral, Cory and wife Leslie Thomas, Steve Clagg and Suzanne Carson; 20 great-grandchildren: Karen, Helen and Mary Andelt, Nathan and Bryant Russell, Seth and wife Samantha, Haydn Deinert, Jalynn, Jeana and Janessa Brase, Ella Brase, Dillon Mundy, Genna, Jacob, Jack and Bethany Vogel, Jacob, Ryan and Logan Tejral, Braxton Thomas; one great, great-grandson, Remington Deinert. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Virginia.
