Virginia Marybel Eng was born July 20, 1918 in Seward, Nebraska to Oscar Noel and Myrtle (McCalip) Fairbrother and passed away October 18, 2010 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 29 days. She was a 1936 graduate of Seward High School. Following her graduation she became a Dental Assistant for Dr. Beldan in Seward. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy where she served as a dental technician at the U.S. Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. She attended Cosmetology School in Lincoln. Virginia was united in marriage to Ervin Claus Joe Eng on December 31, 1946. Virginia continued her education earning her nursing license and served as a nurse at Seward Memorial Hospital for 11 years and several years as the Director of Nursing at the Bethesda Care Facility. She was an active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school. Virginia was a member of the Staplehurst Community Club and a long time member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #4755. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin "Joe" Eng; sister, Maxine Miers; brother, Noel Fairbrother. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Havlat and significant other, Mike Taylor of Seward; grandchildren, Robin Winchester and friend, Craig Dittmar, Heather Graves and husband, Rich Graves. Great grandchildren, Cody Winchester, Richie Graves, Dusty Winchester, Alesha Graves; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Loren and Esther Niemann of Staplehurst; many nieces and nephews. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Virginia. |
