Vivian Doris Watson was born on October 7, 1920, in Seward to Harvey and Inez (Davisson) Mercer and passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the Utica Community Care Center at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 21 days. Vivian grew up and attended school in Seward, where she graduated with the class of 1938. She was united in marriage to Ralph Watson on December 4, 1939. Their marriage was bless with two children, Ronald and Gale. Vivian worked as a bookkeeper at several locations in the Seward. Vivian worked as a waitress at several cafes in Seward and Utica. She owned Viv's Corner Cafe for 2 and a half years in Utica. Vivian then worked at Pioneer Hybrids sorting corn into her 80's. She was a long time member of the Utica United Methodist Church where she was the co-organizer of the Annual Utica United Methodist Church spaghetti supper for many years. Left to cherish her memories are sons, Ronald and wife Velma Watson and Gale and wife Penny Watson both of Utica; five grandchildren, Debbie Haleem and husband Tariq of Lincoln, Becky Parkison of Omaha, Renee Huber and husband Tim of Grafton, Shelia Petersen and Shelley Watson both of Ulysses; great grandchildren, Janae Haleem, Sarah Parkison, Benjamin Parkison, Brandon Prochnow, Shalyn Prochnow, Lane Watson, Grant Petersen and Sydney Huber. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Mercer and Inez Shipper, husband, Ralph Watson, sisters, Betty Mercer, and Lillian Mercer and brother Robert Mercer.
