9:00 A.M. to 8:30 P.M., Sunday, September 18, 2005, with family receiving friends from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. all at Wood-Zabka
Funeral Home. No viewing at the church on Monday.

Walter Ernest Davis was born July 23, 1911 near Waco, Nebraska to Walter Edward Ed and Effie Mae (Thompson) Davis and passed away on September 15, 2005 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 1 month, 23 days.

He attended country school south and north of Waco and then attended East Ward School in York. Walter farmed east of York with his parents until his marriage. On December 2, 1931, Walter was united in marriage to Ruth Louise Strinz at York, Nebraska. To this marriage four children were born, Walter R. Sonny, Roger J., Dolores D, and Everett E.

They farmed east and south of Tamora until Walter and Ruths retirement in 1979, when they moved into Seward. Walter was a member of the Seward United Methodist Church and the 4-Fs Fellowship Group of the church. He was a member, for many years, of the Goehner Grange, a former school board member of District No. 40 and he was active with 4-H and FFA.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ed and Effie Davis; his wife, Ruth in 2001; his son, Walter R. Sonny Davis, in 1997; his brothers, Roy and Virgil Davis and his sister, Pearl Kaeding.

Walter is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Roger J. Davis, Seward and Everett E. and Andrea L. Davis, Chubbuck, Idaho; his daughter and son-in-law, Dolores D and Don Beierbach, Greeley, Colorado; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Vera Burnham, Logan, Iowa and Ona Mae Erisman, Las Vegas, Nevada; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Walter.
