Wanda Fern (Erford) Miers was born June 7, 1923 in Tamora, Nebraska, the daughter of Elton J. and Lila Olive (Smith) Erford and passed away in Omaha, Nebraska on December 17, 2013 at the age of 90 years, 6 months, 10 days. Wanda was a 1940 graduate of Seward High School; she attended Concordia Teachers College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She was a country school teacher in Seward County prior to her marriage. On May 9, 1945, Wanda was united in marriage to Willard Royal Miers at the Seward Methodist Church. Their marriage was blessed with three children. After the completion of Willard's military service in 1946, they resided in Seward, where they owned and operated Seward Motor Freight and were active in the community. Willard passed away in 1995; Wanda remained in Seward until 2006, when she moved to Omaha to live with her daughter, Linda. Wanda moved to Brookestone Village in 2010. Wanda was an active member of the Seward United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Seward County Historical Society, Seward County Genealogical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and Busy Hour Extension Club. While living in Omaha, Wanda attended Living Faith Methodist Church. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard Miers; and her brothers-in-law, Dale Miers and Elmer Pedigo. Survivors left to cherish Wanda's memory include her children and spouses, Buster and Patricia Miers, Omaha, Steven and Andrea Miers, Lincoln, Linda Miers, Omaha; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Monica Miers, Rebecca and Robert Samuelson, Tyler Miers, Ashley Miers, Harrison Hebb, Ashley Hebb, Hamilton Hebb; great-grandchildren, Bridger Miers, Grayson Miers, Makayla Samuelson and Matthew Samuelson; sister, Wilma Jean Pedigo, Everett, WA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dick and Della Miers, Seward, Lucille and Norman Cross, Friend, Mildred Miers, Seward; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
