Wendy Lou Schroeder was born at Davenport, Iowa on February 1, 1950 and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on February 12, 2009 at the age of 59 years, and 11 days. She was baptized March 26, 1950 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lost Nation, IA and was confirmed March 22, 1964 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Dewitt, IA. Wendy was a 1968 graduate of Columbus High School and the Lincoln School of Commerce. She then went to work for the University of Nebraska in the accounting Department. Wendy was united in marriage to Roger Schroeder on April 14, 1973 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, an honorary member of the Staplehurst Womens Club. She loved all animals and anything to do with Elvis. Preceding her in death were her mother, Anita Latare and a brother-in-law, Dean Schroeder. Wendy is survived by her husband, Roger Schroeder of Staplehurst, NE; father & step-mother, Don & Lois Latare of Maquoketa, IA; sister, Sally Keating of Columbus, NE; aunts and uncles, Lois Brockmeyer, Lowden, IA, Jerold & Donna Jensen, of Lowden, IA, Esther and Everett Schroeder of DeWitt, IA, Arnold & Mary Latare of West Des Moines, IA; step-brothers & wives, Alan & Laurie Jensen of Ames, IA, Mark & Mary Jensen of Houston, TX; step-sisters & husbands, Sue & Jim Isaacson of Detroit, MI, Judy & Bob Tucker of Lowden, IA; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Gerald & Eloise Schroeder of Halfway, OR, Sharon & Joe Mumaugh of Seward, NE, David & Theresa Schroeder of Garland, NE, Sandra Schroeder of Seward, NE, Dennis & Christee Schroeder of Seward, NE, Lisa & Mike Decker of Staplehurst, NE; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
