Wilber Euroy Ringler was born November 12, 1923 near Staplehurst, Nebraska to Erich Nicholas and Christina Sophia (Roerden) Ringler and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on December 22, 2014 at the age of 91 years, 1 month, and 10 days. Wilber attended Zion Lutheran School and was a 1941 graduate of Seward High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1945. He received his Bachelor and Masters from the University of Nebraska and his PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI. Wilber worked in Extension service at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas until his retirement. Wilber was united in marriage to Eda Vera Tyson on August 15, 1948 and to this union one daughter, Susan K. was born. Wilber was preceded in death by his parents, Erich and Christina Ringler; his wife, Eda on December 16, 2006; his brother, Robert on December 23, 2013; his sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Lawrence McGowen; and his brother, Donald. Wilber is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan K. and Dr. Alan Meyer, Cadillac, Michigan; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jamie Lynne Meyer, Cadillac, Michgan, Matthew Allen Meyer and wife Casie and their children, Tess Noelle Meyer and Hattie Sue Meyer, Monterrey, California, and Lori Anne Gebhart and husband John and their son Christian Marc of Michigan; nieces and nephews , other relatives and a host of friends.
