Obituary

William E. "Bill" Fritz was born on June 20, 1956, in Seward to Ernest John and Dorothea Caroline (Barghahn) Fritz and passed away on March 4, 2018, in Lincoln at the age of 61 years, 8 months and 12 days. He was raised on the family farm south of Marysville. Bill was baptized on July 15, 1957, and confirmed on March 22, 1970, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He attended grade school at Marysville and Our Redeemer Schools. Bill then attended Seward Junior High as well as Seward High School graduating with the Class of 1974.

Bill worked at John Deere during and after high school. He then began milking cows with his parents and sister before farming with his brother, Gale, in the Staplehurst area. On November 27, 1991 he was united in marriage to Rosilyn Chulata at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Staplehurst. After Bill retired from farming he delivered seed corn for Pioneer and also helped Jim Duffek during harvest. He enjoyed teasing his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Bill loved playing cards and cribbage with the guys down at the civic center. He also enjoyed going on crop tours with his friends, eating out, dancing (ages ago) and going to the Lied Center attractions in Lincoln. Roz called him her chief cook and bottle washer at home. Bill was a lifetime member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Staplehurst Volunteer Fire Department and Eagles Club in Seward.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Ernie Fritz; nephews, Marty Johnson and Michael Fritz; niece, Anita Fritz; sisters, Margaret Colley and Donna Sears; brother-in-law, Jerry Taylor.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothea Fritz, Seward; wife, Rosilyn (Roz) Fritz, Seward; brothers, Roger Fritz, Missouri Valley, IA and friend, Hannah, Bellevue, NE, Gale and wife, Rose Fritz, Jones, OK, Dean and wife, Bonnie Fritz, Seward; sister, Sandra Patchin and husband Dennis, Gresham; mother-in-law, Jean Algya, Seward; father-in-law, Farnum and wife, Joni Taylor, Bella Vista, AR; step children, Rochelle Chulata, Seward, Bronson Chulata, Utica and Veronica Chulata, Ft. Collins, CO; grandchildren, Kelsey Mommens, Aurora, CO, Malikai Chulata, Utica, Kyla, Dylan and Brogan Watson, Ft. Collins, CO; step granddaughters, Bethany and Savannah Wagner, Seward; sisters-in-law, Kathy and husband Garry Thompson, Lincoln, Kelly and husband Bernie Juday, Sheboygan, WI, Deb Taylor, York; brothers-in-law, Mike Taylor and Becky Havlet, Staplehurst, Bret Taylor, Stromsburg; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great, great nieces and great, great nephews and a host of many friends.
